	click images below for alternate view     Elder's Wisdom White Buffalo Designs This piece titled Elder's Wisdom,from my Native Life Series,stands 11" tall and is 4" wide. This is an uncut gourd that I chose to create the coming together of the tortoise and the hare.I feel that both creatures have admirable traits and that there are things we can learn from them. The turtle symbolizes longevity and survival.We could slow down and enjoy what's truly important in life.Our time here is very short. The rabbit is quick,alert,fearful and has a short life span.From his traits we could learn to take advantage of opportunities before they are gone and if fear is a hindrance to our progression as individuals,conquer those fears. The handle of the gourd is wrapped with leather and rabbit fur is at the base.Attached is an actual seed pod but I do not know what kind.The turtle has been woodburned with the Native American symbol for the four directions painted in the center of his back.
