Vera Efthymiou Parlalidou was born in Limassol. She received a Degree in architecture at the Milan Polytechnic and Interior Design at the Milan Academy of Applied Arts. She practices privately as an architect. She paints and she also does ceramic and sculpture work at her art studio in Limassol. Many of her works enrich private art collections in Cyprus and abroad. Subject matter of her work is the human figure, where sometimes is presented in very simple form with increased abstraction and at other times uses complicated human complexes characterized by intense movement. The artist comments about sculpture in short: “sculpture for me is an endless play with form, a play that makes me feel as a creator”. In painting she prefers pastels, charcoal and acrylic. Her themes are the human figure again and nature, striving for light and color. |
