Spirit of Tears in the Rain

This painting is part of my Feminine Spirits series. This is quite a sharp departure from my usual painting technique and style. While I generally try to be "cute" and pleasant in my art, this new series wants to be bolder and less conventional. I do not use models or reference of any kind, just my "inner world" and imagination. Some of these paintings may make people cringe, and I understand why.The words therapy and exorcism come to my mind.
But it's still me, my wish to capture the feminine, not necessarily gentler, side of nature and life.
I painted this when I came to know that a loved one was diagnosed with a possibly fatal disease. It contains a message of hope, and not sadness-- because the rain that becomes tears is the same rain that makes the white roses bloom.
An unusual, for me, venture into symbolism, this is a prayer and an inspirational piece on canvas.
