The Day She Knew
Umbra art studio
an abstract representation of the Virgin Mary and Jesus... the day she knew that he would have to sacrifice, and that a cross would have been separating them
mixed media on canvas board, 2007
notice the black cross dividing them, and the red heart between them
Mary receives light from above (the yellow triangle) while Jesus emanates light.
Jesus face is divided in two halves, one is blurred , to represent his dual divine/human nature. The human part is visible to us and is looking at us (the eye) while the divine part is mysteriously invisible.
