|Ron Goins started painting on his 51st birthday after receiving an oil painting set from his daughters. Four years and 300 paintings later...
Completely self taught, his style has been described as outsider, primitive or raw,
RonGo paints with traditional acrylics, oils, ink and pastels on traditional canvases as well as not so traditional wood doors, screens, burlap, metal trays and cloth calendars. Paint is applied with brushes, nails, knives as well as every type of household and industrial utensil imaginable. Blemishes and faults in the material are used to give a textured and varied look.
Inspiration come from other artists(both famous and not so famous) as well as modern life. Being an Antiques dealer for the last 30 years, has given him his unusual view of life. RonGo art isn't meant to be pretty, just different.
Collectors from all over the Eastern US have added RonGo art to their collections, mostly from Antique shows. He has also participated in Folk Fest in Atlanta.
