I've been drawing and painting for as long as I can remember. My first artistic success came when I was in fourth grade and I copied Van Gogh's "La Mousme’." The other kids told me I was an artist! I love figuratives and keep busy on the side with portrait commissions. I’m gallery represented and a juried member of Oil Painters of America.
The artistic chromosomes go back to my great Uncle, Joseph Reidsema, who was an artist in the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s in Michigan and California. He was a plein aire painter of landscapes, seascapes and portraits. My Grandfather, Roy was also an artist and my mother , Doris, painted as well, so I had encouragement and access to art supplies from her from a very young age.
My sister, Kim, is an artist and muralist in arkansas, near Branson, Mo. and sells her paintings on ebay as well. To see her work click here... artfortheworld She actually painted Michaelangelo’s “Creation of Adam” on someone’s ceiling!
