 Thanks for viewing my gallery. I am a self-trained artist specializing in the use of recycled materials for creating my 3D pieces. This includes plastic beverage containers, as well as other readily available household items, such as packaging & shipping materials (biodegradable and non-biodegradable).
I spend many hours of cutting, burning, molding and painting in trying to create the illusion of a realistic-looking piece of art. I have limited myself to purchasing only the paint and adhesives I need for my projects, not so much because I wanted to challenge myself artistically, but more because of the financial challenges I am going through at this stage in my new (but not necessarily young) life as an artist.
In hindsight, I am grateful for the artistic and life challenges that have come and keep coming my way. Although I still have much to learn before I can say that I have mastered the right style and technique, at the very least, I can honestly say that I am happy about where I am and how far I have come as an artist. I feel that I have found my own unconventional style that is not only innovative and aesthetically pleasing but is also practical, cost-effective and environmentally friendly. I feel a deep sense of accomplishment in that I am now able to express myself artistically, as well as help the environment by converting what is basically considered trash into art.
