The first question I get asked when someone finds my work on-line is - what are you doing on an on-line sales site? I started out on the usual fine art route by showing in galleries in the early 1980s and ended up having my artwork showcased throughout the U.S. and collected by people around the world. Along the way, I have also designed for products for companies from Starbucks to The Nature Company and have written and illustrated several children's books. I am happy to have my newest books, Pug in a Truck out in time for Christmas 2006 and Fred Stays With Me by summer 2007.
So why AM I here? Simple. I wanted to have a closer relationship with my collectors. Over the years as galleries took over the business of selling my work, I realized I missed finding out where all my hard work was ending up. I missed that connection of knowing my art was enjoyed. So that's it. If you are already familiar with my work you'll see that I have reduced my prices. Why? My goal is to introduce myself to a whole world of new collectors. That followers of my work get a great deal is an added bonus. They all know what they've seen my originals priced at in the galleries. For those that aren't familiar with me, I am a self-taught artist, working mainly in oil pastels in Portland, Oregon where I live with my family and pets and am always dreaming up the next book or piece of art!
