The Thinker by all rights is finished, but until it is bought and paid for I will continue to perfect it. Da Vinci worked on The Last Supper for 7 years.
Last Judgement adaptation, Rodin's Thinker was inspired by Dante and Michelangelo's (Inferno/Divine Comedy inspired) Last Judgement in the Sistine Chapel. Here is the Sistine's detail that compelled Rodin to sculpt The Thinker. (The damned figure holding hand to face in despair)
