 Expression of my art is in the challenge and the learning. Painting the majestic Redwood or the powerful movement of horses, I attempt to show what I feel and wish to express,
Crater Lake is very humbling in its raw beauty, attempting to capture this in art is humbling. I changed the painting of Crater Lake to Nocturnal from my photograph, using my minds eye, now will have to return and see how my work compares to the real Nocturnal Crater Lake!
Vision as seeing, is something I have always appreciated- and seem to have had, as in seeing things differently than what most other people seem to see when looking at the same thing, everyone may see things differently. I know this has always been a great help in composing my photography.
The only animal from what I have been told which has the same eyes as a human and sees colors as we do, is the Octopus, if one looks into the eyes of an Octopus they will feel a very strange relationship.
I prefer to paint in my studio, and if possible from my own photographs, though I have painted plein' air,I much prefer having a workshop studio with all the tools and amenities.
