 I began making jewelry seriously in 1989 when I opened a small shop called Kraftwork. I had taken a few classes in silver jewelry making in the 70's and loved designing and crafting my own one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces. As I got more skillful at the actual craft of jewelry making, I was fortunate enough to also sell my work at a Newbury St. location and several museum shops in the Boston, MA. area. When my husband (that's Craig in the photo with me)and I moved into our suburban home, I gave up the shop and other selling locations and concentrated on making our house my major art project. These days I live with a serious case of agoraphobia. This means that I very, very rarely leave the house, use the phone, or even answer the door. Our 3 little dogs, 3 cats, and myself basically depend on my husband to deal with the outside world. I have a tiny workshop in our basement and from time to time when the mood and mind are right, I get a strong yearning to get back to my jewelry making roots. The following are my first new pieces in several years, and I sincerely appreciate you folks for taking the time to look at them. |
