Growing up in rural Conecuh County Alabama, I developed an interest in art at an early age. Mostly drawing during my school years and later I tried my hand at painting. In 2004 I began to try Wood Carving and Folk Art paintings.
I like to use cypress knees and cottonwood bark. It is satisfying to look at the original shape of these and see something in it and then create this in an art form.
Basswood, Cedar and Walnut are also favorites I use in carvings.
