Acrylic on 5 x 5 inch wood plaque protected with satin varnish. The frame and the back of the plaque is a medium brown. There is a plaque ring attached to the top for hanging or if you prefer, this small painting looks great displayed on a small decorative easel or plate stand.
Over the years, I would collect and save the many wonderful Christmas cards that my family received. When I was a child, it was a big deal to display our cards. We would attach them to the doorframes around the house with clear scotch tape. They were as individual as the friends and family who sent them. I especially enjoyed the ones with cats.
Blues and browns make up this whimsical miniature painting. The steps are a blend of rich reddish browns with creamy tan. The Boxes are creamy tans with light brown tied with white string. The Blue and white front door is shut tight unaware of the excitement that awaits in the Christmas boxes, but as you can see the black cat is curious to see what is inside.
Thank you for looking and please know that the colors are much truer in person.
