Acrylic on 3 1/4 x 5 1/4 inch wood plague protected with satin varnish. The frame is a medium opaque coral pink that also extends to the back of the plaque. This small original painting looks good displayed on a small decorative easel or plate stand. If you wish to hang it you can attach a plaque ring to the top.
It is early evening Christmas Eve and everyone is at Church except for our two little feline friends sitting waiting in anticipation for the service to begin. You see cats are not allowed inside the church but that does not deter these two from bending an ear to hear the celebration.
The backdrop for this miniature painting is a soothing mist of sea foam mixed with shades of blue and white. There is a bit of a chill in the air along with wisps of snow blowing in from the east. The trees are leaf bare and blowing in the winter wind with hues of slate blue and bits of brown bark showing. The church is painted in shades of slate blue with the sea foam bleeding through and the windows are lit up with a soft yellow and gold glow. The garland across the front of the church and the fir tree both are a blend of green hues topped with a veil of gold. There are blades of green grass scattered throughout the church lawn and along the path leading to the cats.
Thank you for looking and please know that the colors are much richer in person.
