	Christmas tree Sleigh Ride Folk Art Donna Hickerson This decorative, Christmas painting is acrylic on 7 x 9 inch wood plaque protected with satin varnish. This little original painting looks good displayed on a small decorative easel or you may hang it on the wall with a plaque ring. Over the years, I would collect and save the many wonderful Christmas cards that my family received. They were as individual as the friends and family who sent them. Some of my favorites were of sleigh rides. It is a cold wintry day and these two are in a hurry to get into their warm home and begin decorating their freshly cut Christmas tree. Covering the landscape is an icy blue snow with a dark blue December sky and there are deep green evergreens all around. A rich burnt orange frame surrounds the plaque, which compliments the blue and reflects the warm colors in the barn, the riders’ festive clothing and their hard-working horse.
