Fortunately, for me, my father carried a camera with him everywhere he went. He loved to capture moments in time and had a real talent for doing just that. This painting is part of my Recollection Series which is inspired by my father’s insightful photographs. He carried a camera with him all the time and really capture moments in time.
This painting is of my cousin Mike and me, taken in December of 1953 in Paintsville, Kentucky. Mike was more like a brother to me than a cousin and it was a blessing to have him in my life.
I painted this in bright, primary colors just the way I remember those innocent, fun days of the fifties.
