“Cody Hooper’s work is brilliant, it pushes the boundaries of color and energy with his luminescent laying of textured paint. His interest in color theory and texturing concepts are apparent in his works.”
Cody Hooper was born and grew up in Texas. After moving to Dallas during Middle School he began studying under the artistic talent of Barbara Hughes, a National Watercolor Society Artist known for her brilliant color and highly detailed floral and animal paintings. She took him under her wing and taught him the value of high quality art. She was one of his favorite mentors and set a fire in him that would drive him into the art world. In high school he began to master watercolor and the photo realistic style. His art teacher directed him into abstracts where he found the purest form of expressive art. He won many awards on a local and national level with his abstracts. During College Cody was deeply interested in the effects of color and the emotional energy they could add to a space. He mastered color theory and took many advanced classes with an artist and writer of different books on color theory and lighting effects enabling him to explore even more deeply into his talents as a fine artist. With a degree and background in graphic design Cody is pushing his way into the art scene promoting himself, now currently living in Austin Texas Cody continues to push forward as a local fine artist.
