"The mighty cruise ship 'Catala" has been blown out of the water in a horrific storm and lies now at an angle waiting for the inevitable drifting sand to swallow her up."
Artist Comments: "The 'Catala" was a glamourous floating 'boatel' in her glory days. When I came upon her on the beach, listing at an angle, it seemed sad. Being inside and walking the corridors was an amazing experience. I felt disoriented and had a difficult time staying upright. I photographed her and did two paintings of the moment. One is the full boat (from the same angle), which is the property of the Timberland Regional Library in Washington state; the other is in my private collection."
"Catala" is a limited edition, giclée print from an original oil painting by Carol Thompson. Edition length is 3600 authorized, signed, limited edition prints (3500 numbered and 100 artist proofs). Prints on paper are signed and numbered by Carol Thompson, include a signed certificate of authenticity, and are shrink wrapped on fome board. Prints on canvas are signed and numbered by Carol Thompson, include a signed certificate of authenticity, and are gallery wrapped (the image is extended or mirrored to wrap around the sides of wooden stretcher bars and stapled to the back) so the print can be displayed framed or unframed. Other products are not signed or numbered unless specifically noted.
