Being the time of year, Summer, with plenty of rain and greenery around I could not resist painting my favorite birds visiting my garden. Featured here is (anti-clockwise) the Crested Barbet, Hadeda Ibis, African Hoopoe and the Cardinal Woodpecker. The painting is 'decorative' and depicts the branches at the very top of the tree with the sky and clouds in the backgound. Many of our trees at this time of the year bear flowers. The leafy frame around the picture gives the illusion that the scene is being 'looked into' through the leaves into the branches and the top of the sky. Sun, light and color abounds.
This painting is done in oils on stretched canvas.
