I’ve been creating sculpture and decorative art exclusively over the past 11 years. The elements of my sculptures are defined during the primary design phase, however I am drawn to organic forms and intentionally keep no knowledge of horticulture so that my art may take on its own surreal nature. My work is most often described as having a natural feel with the focus being its overall form.
I believe that the pieces should be visually enjoyable and stimulating, thus my designs often are intentionally vague in the drawing stages of their conception. I want the viewer of my work to become interested in the form of the sculpture.
My art is produced mainly in the traditional blacksmith methods as well as using antique and historical machinery. The nature of my work is very much in direct relation with the materiel with which I work. I use a system of hand forged structural elements, and hardware components to produce my art. The use of traditional blacksmith artistry allows me to envision the creation of art that represents growth throughout time.
Cordially,
