Stained Glass Mosaic #3 (Ark) 13x13"
Sisters In Stitches (see more by this artist)
This is the 3rd quilt in an ongoing art quilt series exploring the use of bias tape and freeform design.
As the piece was being hand appliqued with hand made bias tape, I thought I saw a basket. As it progressed, it needed something else so the zig zag was added at the top and the black rock was added. Now it looks more like a version of an ark to some viewers, a cave to others and still others see the basket.
This piece is hand appliqued, hand quilted and hand bound by the artist. The hand quilting is done in an echo pattern, with repeating "lines" being 1/8" apart.
