The customer's Family Name Quilt shown, was designed around specific information provided by the family. All Custom Family Name Wall Hangings are designed in this way.
This is for a young couple just starting out. They have been married for 2 years and were expecting their first child in August 2005. The parent's names and birth dates are hand stitched in the top 2 hearts. Their family dog's name and birth date is in the bottom heart on the right hand side. When their first child is born, his or her name and birth date will be added. As more children join the family, the wall hanging will be returned to me to add in their information.
The family initial in the center is made with wood grained fabric as the young couple is building a log home in 2006. The "W" was hand appliqued to the background fabric. The background fabric behind the initial has an oriental motif as the wife was born in Japan when her father was in the military. The oriental fabric has been heavily echo quilted approximately 1/8" apart.
The farmer pig fabric reflects that the husband is a crop farmer. The farmer, mushroom and penguin fabrics are all specialty fabrics from France. These fabrics were given to the wife's mother as a gift in 1998 and have been incorporated into this wallhanging.
This example has just been updated with the addition of the family's 2nd child born April 23, 2007.

Manufacturing time is 3-5 weeks depending on order backlog. The average manufacturing time is 4 weeks.
All wall hangings come with washing and care instuctions as well as information on how to hang the quilt invisibily. The back of the quilt is traditional, unbleached muslin. Each quilt is signed and dated by the artist. Crafted in a smoke-free and animal-free environment.
There are hanging sleeves ready to accept any type of wood dowl, 2-3" wood slat or curtain rod.
