	click images below for alternate view     First Quilt 1991 72"x90" Sisters In Stitches (see more by this artist) This is the first quilt I ever made. I made it for my daughter who was 7 years old at the time. It was started in March of 1991 and finished on October 21, 1991. It was made out of polyester fabric and cotton fabrics from the bargain bin at WalMart. Every seam in this quilt was hand cross stitched over the seam joins using pink quilting thread. Hearts were hand quilted in all of the borders around each block. This is the first and only quilt I have made where each block was quilted first and then the quilted blocks were joined together to make the quilt. This quilt was made for my daughter and now her 2 year old daughter is using it on her bed. The quilt still looks as it did when it was completed 16 years ago. It has been in continuous use since it was made and washed many times in the home washing machine. Exhibited at the Through the Years Quilt Show in Siren, WI October 6-7, 2007 in the Special Exhibit of First and Recent Quilts. (c) 1991 Jean M.
