This is my 7th Intuitive Fine Art ‘I Am’ Miniature Series & has been in a local Art Show.
As a Needlepoint Artist I believe this makes a Floral statement all on its own in a mandala style & is done in a spiral. It is a different medium for a screen & required special consideration in how to accomplish it.
It is unlike any other item I have ever made. It was the 2nd I made using a Metal Motif, though its design is completely different from the 1st & it may not be my last.
Motif: 1.5 inch diameter, white, embossed metal disc.
Threads: Pearl Cotton & Metallic strand embroidery.
Frame Size: 3 inches square & a Pearly White with a White Mat. The framing and Mat with the added elements of cut crystals created a real dimensional depth to this item’s design.
Faceted Cut Crystals add sparkle & really drew people’s eye to this item during my Art Show & represent the following include Crystals & Gemstones: Garnet, Topaz, Emerald & Aquamarine.
Background: Cotton-Polyester, Shimmery fabric in a rich Emerald Green.
Technique: Not all stitching needs to be on mesh or screens or material (fabric). Inspired by the metal motif, this was woven, using its design’s holes to create its amazing ‘Spiral of Life!’
The rich quality of this Intuitive Fine Art item balances well by allowing the colors of threads & faceted crystals against the white of the motif, mat & frame with its solid dark green background to allow it to simply ‘pop’ with color to draw one’s eye into its mysteries!
‘The Spiral of Life’ motif is 12 spirals & created an unusual design. In changing colors as it wound inward, it draws one into its spiral & then sends the eye back to its outer edges.
Spirals are seen in Nature in Sea Shells, Ferns before open, a fetus & other places. For fun – look at the human helix DNA, as it is a spiral form.

‘The Spiral of Life’ is imbued with history. It is seen in many cultural art designs.
In Celtic Lore, many circular designs use spirals with animals, birds, snakes, interlace, flowers, trees & even humans!
Spirals are often 3, 5, 7 or 8. A Celtic 7 Spiral I colored in Chakra & Aura colors is 7 spirals, which are rare & were used on ancient coins.
Please see the additional views to see a ‘Colorful Celtic Seven Spiral of Life.’ I used ‘Metallic Crayons’ to color the spiral (my cousin had sent it). I have since seen it in other places. Look for this drawing elsewhere within my Yessy Art Gallery, as I offer for SALE it as a print.
