These Gem-Tone Coasters were Designed & Created by Maureen using a skein of contrast color strand ‘microfiber yarn.’ Creating this set of coasters was time consuming due to the detail.
Rather than using as Coasters, each could be displayed on an easel. See view of a coaster on an easel (easel is not included).

Each Gem-Tone Coaster is 3.5 inches square 10-stitches-to-the-inch mesh. The meanings I placed on the colors, designs & words go like this:

Garnet: 1st Chakra, Root – a scene of a forest’s tree trunks with lush green plants & a peek to the branches & sky are seen. Below the ground it shows trees roots reaching for water, seemingly meandering randomly. A brilliant red of Garnet surrounds the design with the idea of physical life’s blood surging through one’s body. It is an awareness to maintain grounding with Earth while seeking spirituality. Red is used for the heart’s love for others & the Earth’s pulse.

Citrine: 2nd Chakra, Pelvic – a scene of a single tree with flowers all around its base are seen. An imaginary tree has multitudes of colors. The metaphor is from this place in a human’s body new life can come. Are hearts going into the tree or radiating outwardly from it with Heart Chakra colors? You decide.

Emerald: 3rd Chakra, Solar Plexus – when one begins to use crystals & has the realization not all gemstones once thought to work for one Chakra or another can work for many others. An Emerald is used for the Heart Chakra. There are multiple crystals, gemstones & minerals for each Chakra. While Peridot is a green stone associated with the Solar Plexus, it can cause one to become ‘too relaxed.’ I chose Emerald, due to its clarity & the balance it can bring to this Chakra. From the Solar Plexus humans can have intuition strengthened when combined with one’s 3rd eye.

Heart: 4th Chakra – the Heart is the center from Root to Crown. There are many gemstones used for the Heart. I used colors of the stones in the design: Rose Quartz, Dioptase, Emerald, Garnet & Calcite to name a few. Rose Quartz is excellent to imbue one with compassion & other attributes.

Truth & Lapis: 5th Chakra, Throat – from the voice we speak & write our truth. The Chakra above it is our 3rd Eye. While there are other gemstones & crystals associated with the 5th & 6th Chakra, Lapis is best to create one’s truth. When one can speak their truth, one finds happiness within & better communication with all others.

Amethyst: 6th Chakra, 3rd Eye – known as intuition. One’s ability to use intuition can come in many forms. Amethyst is a strong crystal to assist. The 6th Chakra is associated with Fluorite & Azurite. Since the energy is said to come into one’s 3rd Eye, I used all colors of the Chakras to radiate into the 3rd Eye vision. Amethyst has varying amounts of manganese, thus Amethyst comes in a variety of colors shades. Amethyst is considered a ‘protectorate’ crystal. Use is said to create clarity in intuitive messages while balancing emotions in conjunction with the 3rd Chakra.

Quartz: 7th Chakra, The Crown – clear quartz is the best conduit to use, though there are many choices for one’s Crown Chakra. Quartz comes in many colors depending upon the minerals which enter into it during its creation. Science has proven the vibration of the electromagnetic conductivity of Quartz, so it is no real wonder why it is a most sought after crystal used for spiritual awareness. It can assist in balancing, Aligning & purifying.

Let guests select their favorite Chakra or Gemstone or scatter coasters around a room. These colorful ‘Seven Chakras & Gemstones’ Coasters will spark conversation, create joy, calm & tranquility to enjoy cool Summer drinks with friends!
