‘Catch the Rainbow’ is a lovely Desk-sized Framed Mandalla to entice the ideals of what it might mean to ‘Catch a Rainbow!’

It is overall 3.5" Wide x 5.25" High – small, though powerful & priced very reasonable for this era's economical times!

Its background is a subtle rainbow with natural elements in it that seem to float in the air as leaves from Fall trees do on a windy Fall day!

The needlepoint is 2.5" square & on 10 stitches-to-the inch mesh. A spectrum of color, the colors of a human 'Aura' that emit from one’s Chakras when aligned are seen.

Top appears as a Crown, while the piece is surrounded by pink, one of the colors for the Heart Chakra & that of love for life.

A dimensional ribbon Rose graces the center as a reminder that all that is of Earth’s Nature could not exist without water from the rains & the Sun's light. The spectacular view we see - a Rainbow – cannot appear unless there is rain at the same time the Sun is shining!

Humans have been fascinated by the colors of a Rainbow for as long as we have existed. Legends, Lore & Stories tell of all the wonderful items ‘at the end of a Rainbow’ – yet we know there is no beginning & no end. Songs, Poems & Art have depicted Rainbows for aeons!

It is a constant in nearly every culture that fascinates the human mind. When someone sees a Rainbow, it often lifts their Spirit, as their gaze turns skyward. Some people remember the first Rainbow they ever saw as a child!

The spectrum colors of a Rainbow often elude us, as we cannot always see all of its colors with our seeing eyes. Light refractions, visible & non-visible light caused people to study it, define it or learn of its vibrations.

In thinking on this, one must wonder where Science meets Spirituality when it comes to the Whole Spectrum of Light & Rainbows! Generally, humans are drawn to light & color, like moths at night to a candle lantern!

We see shapes in certain items that are free-flowing in Nature, Clouds, Water & more. We create art in Form, Shape, Dimension & Perspective that often elude the eye & trick the brain into seeing something that is not there or in each person seeing each item of art differently. We think, ‘Ah, art is in the eye of the beholder!’

Further, the absence of light is darkness. Spiritual people believe embracing ‘The Light’ is far better than embracing darkness, yet, we must accept that darkness does exist. Many never quite understand the degrees of ‘Light’ & how the degrees of vibrations are from one end of the spectrum to the other, recognizing that even darkness has vibrations, as well.

One only need step into the shadows of a dark night or into a dark cave to sense a completely different vibration of darkness that does not feel bad. When in a theater, just before a performance – the lights dim & the theater becomes dark.

The buzz of voices softens stops & then the feast for the eyes occurs when the curtains open to a stage full of light, shadows, color, movement, voices or music, singing or dancing!

A little understood ideal is the concept we humans only see ‘that which light falls upon!’ Now, back to rain & rainbows to seeing the silver lining in a cloud as a necessary fact of Earth conditions, as nothing can live with out Rain or Water!

How fortunate are we to live on such a planet as Earth? We can ‘Catch The Rainbow’ by capturing it within art such as this small piece that speaks the greater volumes of life's truths!
