Originally, Ding was used to cook and contain foods, afterward it became a kind of ritual ware, was used in sacrificial activities. This piece, called Ke, was made by an aristocrat named Ke of Zhou Dynasty (1046-771 BC) for sacrificing his forefathers, its original height is 93cm (37").
