Originally, Ding was used to cook and contain foods, afterward it became a kind of ritual ware, was used in sacrificial activities. This piece, called Simuwu, was made by a king of Shang Dynasty (1600-1046 BC) for sacrificing his mother, its original size: Height 133cm (52"), Mouth 112*79cm (44"*31").
