Hand carved wooden Gag Grouper created freehand without patterns. Painted in watercolors over hand drawn scales (each scale is painted individually). Sealed in 8 coats of a high grade, high gloss marine varnish that will protect the colors from fading regardless of the conditions the fish is displayed in. This also allows the natural grain/knots to show through the paint. The fish was hand scaled again after the painting process before sealing which gives the scales more depth. Measuring 25 inches in length, 10 inches in height, and has a glass fish eye. There are eye hooks with wire on the back for easy hanging on any wall. Comes signed, dated, numbered along with the name by wood burning on the backside of the fish. Back also has 2 coats of marine varnish to protect the wood against damage. Since no patterns are used in any part of the carving or painting, each fish is unique, one of a kind work of art. An original from DryRiver Carvings.
