A Welcome Blessing
Marnie Sherwin (see more by this artist)
On the porch, the hispanic cross welcomes, reminding about goodness on this day. For a moment, forget what man created beyond the cross in terms of religion. Remember who was on the cross and the life He led. Regardless of what you think about His being, His goodness has been documented. He taught unconditional love, acceptance, forgiveness, humility. No one should cast a first stone since we all have, or will have, faults to work on. He helped out of love, not ego. He touched lepers, the untouchables. All felt acceptance in His presence. How far we are from how He lived with all of our self-righteous biases. Take a moment and think about it. I'm not preaching - just incredibly amazed at the power of that kind of love and the difficulty to give it in view of our territorial, protective human nature.
