	Venture 11 featured in 'King Kong' Alfred Memelink (see more by this artist) Venture 11, as featured in the remake of the movie King Kong. Most of the fuilming for this film was undertaken here in Wellington and I had the adventuroud role of chief engineer on this fascianting old vessel. She was originally an old duthc oster named Manuia and 50 years old. She was transformed into an old trampship typical of the 20's era, complete with painted on rust and a beutdummy funnel with a big juicy artificial smoke maker.
