ABOUT THE ARTIST
Randy Jacobs paints for the healing of all people. Color indeed heals all wounds, celebrates great joy, and speaks all languages. Trained from an education of faith, loss, and survival, Randy is an impressionistic painter who achieves striking results by building composition layer by layer. Color is the focus of his work and easily evokes peacefulness, harmony, and mood. His latest knock-out, the International Galleries release of the "Cross" has generated large sums in giclee reproduction, a giclee run sold out in only six months, and throws him into the limelight of Dallas' art scene as an up and coming contemporary painter who has found his voice with the brush. Living in Maryland near Washington D.C. put him right in the center of the 9/11 tragedy at the Pentagon and the subsequent sniper attacks. "I was just blown away by the terror dumped on these people, especially children," he says as he began to put paint to canvas. "Children were literally put on "lock-down" in schools and parents were stooping down behind their vehicles for protection as they pumped gas." Thus he made an immediate decision to leave the corporate world, re-locate to Texas near his family, and pursue art with every living breath.
Randy began sharing his color at his first solo showing in Sundance Square, Ft. Worth, Texas, at the Circle Theatre and is now sharing his healing works around the world putting his art in the hands, hearts, and souls of people around the United States and around the world. He paints with shapes, colors, and layers to create balance. "Balance lives in the present," one of his mentors said, and continued, "The way to lose your footing is to focus on what dreadful things may happen. When you feel the earth moving, bring yourself back to the now. You'll handle whatever shake-up might happen. In this moment you're still breathing. In this moment, you've survived. In this moment, you've found a new place to move your feet so you can step onto higher ground."
