Frosted Jade Recline
Nancy Bossert (see more by this artist)
"Frosted Jade Recline" shows my love for the human figure, the linear, clay, and stamping. This piece of Fine Art is created on kiln fired clay that I rolled out and incised the figure in a reclining pose, on the left hand side I stamped it with a serpentine stone, to leave an imprint. The clay was bisque and glaze fired in my studio kiln.
The coloration is a tonal yellow/brown with a green tone. The linear is revealed in brown and there is a brush of a water coloration on the left hand side. The slab of clay I did not keep squared off. The clay slab measures approximately 7" x 11",however, the rabbet of the frame only lips over three edges of the clay slab, leaving one edge exposed. I loved the presentation.
The frame is a wide wood frame with fine intricate design elements carved in. The front profile of the frame measures 3 3/4" with a side projection from the wall of 1 1/2". This is not a heavy piece at all, but different.
The overall size of "Frosted Jade Recline" is 14 1/2" x 18 1/2".
Enjoy, Nancy
