Black Cat on Christmas Eve Folk Art
Donna Hickerson (Young) (see more by this artist)
Acrylic on 4 x 4 inch wood plaque protected with satin varnish. The frame and the back are a deep holly green. This petite original painting looks good displayed on a small decorative easel or plate stand. If you wish to hang it, you can attach a plaque ring to the top.
I painted this miniature painting in a whimsical, holiday style. It is Christmas Eve and Mr. Black Cat is enjoying some time alone in front of the fireplace.
The background is a textured mix of reds, oranges and yellows. The red brick fireplace blends in except for the outline of the bricks and the clock on the mantle. There is holly with small red berries atop the clock and the tree in the corner is a blend of holly and mint greens with pink and r3d ornaments. Under the tree sits a lone pink present with a yellow bow.
Thank you for looking and please know that the colors are much richer in person.
