Alum Rock & White Rd.
wendy detweiler (see more by this artist)
18x24 oil on canvas,original Wendy Detweiler,unframed...not completed....
This is an intersection in San Jose Ca. about 1959-60. Was like a border of Residential post WW2 homes, and downtown.Of course this area has massively changed now, thousands of people live in this area, the Sunsweet packing company is gone,as well as many other changes. The big cemetery is still there but mostly full.In this scene it is Fall,Halloween...children dressed in costumes, one boy at the gas station puts air in his bike tire while his dog watches. A couple walk to this gas station because their car ran out of gas and they needed to fill the can...there might even be some ghosts about...this area was and still is a very busy place.
