IN VIEW 1, the baby's name/weight/height is on the sign on top of hospital, DOB and city is on the truck, and time born is on the gym sign. Also note the hospital name, the residence of the new baby, and even the older sister's name is on a flower box by her window. A sign on top of the residence tells the names of the 'proud parents'. Memories include the nearby subway, H&H bagels, Zabar's grocery, Plaza grocery, and an Irish Pub called The Parlour. And since the baby was born in NYC, you have to have Macy's, the Empire State building, and the Chrysler Building. What memories would you include in your 'birth announcement' painting?
IN VIEW 2: FOR COLLEGE MEMORIES or for birth in KIRKSVILLE (from left to right): Steven visited Vail, walmart and the pizza place while at college; he had most of his classes in Barnett Hall; his major is shown, and at the gym you see his favorite sports; Truman Univ. are the bulldogs; Steven is a Sig Tau and their mascot is a goat; He worked at Woody's running Trivia Night and at Smitty's; he is from St. Louis and moved to Colorado after graduation. Memories of the school include the puppy he rescued (on left) and the gum tree (sideways in the pavement on right front) that students stuck wads of gum on before entering classrooms. Also on upper right is the weathervane which is permanently soldered to point Northeast, to remind students of the university's former name. Also included is the bell wall, the university seal, and the founder (Baldwin), along with a house (308) where Steven lived and which is an annex for the Sig Taus; and thru the tunnel you see the library attached to the clock tower. This painting was signed in the 18x24 three-inch mat by Steven's friends and was later framed as a graduation gift from his Grandma. Your name can be there (instead of Steven) and buildings can be renamed, at no additional cost (i.e. an enhanced giclee); if you want to have buildings redrawn, then you would need to purchase the Original (either framed or not).
.......ENHANCED GICLEE: The giclee uses archival ink on archival paper. Your details are included, but buildings are not redrawn.
.....SIGNING THE MAT: People who come visit your new baby, or collee friends & family can sign the mat -- and when it's full, then it can be framed. The painting is about 12x18. It should be noted that 18x24 is a standard-sized frame and 16x22 is NOT standard size. If you don't plan on having the mat signed and want a standard-sized frame, then the mat can be cut so it can frame into a 16x20 for no additional charge.
.....IF YOU BUY IT FRAMED: If you purchase either an original or enhanced giclee already framed in a black metal frame, it can be easily removed (undo 2 screws) to allow mat to be signed before reframing it. They come framed with plexiglass but you could easily replace it with glass at any time. Plexiglass is lightweight but not as sturdy over the years as glass.
.......SIZES: The painting/giclee is 12" x 18". You choose a 3" mat (18x24),a 2" mat (16x22) or a mat to frame into a 16x20 frame. The artist recommends white 3" if you are having it signed and a black 2" mat if you are not having it signed. A black mat makes the painting pop.
.......FRAMING: If framing is chosen, a narrow black metal frame is used, along with a double mat, plexiglass, and a foam core backing.
.......CARDS: Image of the painting (with the birth information) is on the front. The size is 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" and they come with envelopes with a blank inside.
