This painting is executed in a traditional way with a grisaille layer. My focus has been to have a great contrast going between pure whites and strong darks. Because I visited the Turner exhibit at the Grand-Palais in Paris, this work is an homage to William Turner. I used many layers
of glazing over the grisaille.
A peaceful scene, an eclectic environment full of antiques and things all mixed up in an old house in Paris and an old man simply enjoying a great book.
Art is the best asset class right now
