"A lone seagull stands above a conveyor belt at the ‘Jolly Roger’ oyster processing plant on an ‘oyster watch’.”
Artist comment: "In Nahcotta, Washington on Willapa Bay, is the Jolly Roger oyster company. A fleet of five oyster boats keeps things busy on a daily basis. I was intrigued by the rusty ‘boom’ in contrast to the black shiny, greased chain. Rust is one of my favorite things to paint and pastel is my favorite medium to paint it. I began with an abstract background, then did the rusty boom and dark conveyor belt. Next I painted the black wheels and chain, finishing with the curious seagull. The falling oyster shells were the finishing touch.”
"Oyster Watch" is a limited edition, giclee print from an original pastel painting by Carol Thompson. Edition length is 3600 authorized, signed, limited edition prints (3500 numbered and 100 artist proofs). Prints on paper are signed and numbered by Carol Thompson, include a signed certificate of authenticity, and are shrink wrapped on fome board. Prints on canvas are signed and numbered by Carol Thompson, include a signed certificate of authenticity, and are gallery wrapped (the image is extended or mirrored to wrap around the sides of wooden stretcher bars and stapled to the back) so the print can be displayed framed or unframed. Other products are not signed or numbered unless specifically noted.
