There's something very satisfying to me about levels - stripes - like a cutaway view of a section of land. I love they way they bleed into one another and the interplay between the layers that shows up where they meet. The face that shows up superimposed on these levels might represent my thoughts as they're affected by contact with these levels. I told my mother this painting's name was "The Idea." More like "The VERY Idea," she laughed.
