Pear Quench
Nancy Bossert (see more by this artist)
"Pear Quench" is an encaustic/ mixed media still life that I find stimulating and liberating. This piece is created on acid free, archival paper.
This isn't a tremendously large piece ,but a piece that can work anywhere. It combines an abstracted space of compositionally balanced hues of gray/violet deep, tan, blue gray, and browns. Set within this space is belgium linen that holds an oil painting of mine of three small pears.
The pear painting houses all the same colorations with the addition of the yellows. I have allowed the one edge of the primed canvas to be exposed to work with the composition.
This Fine art piece is double matted with cobblestone outside and an inner mat of Sonora. The frame has an Asian flair of red tones over a subtle gold that works beautifully with the piece.
The mat measures 4 1/2" top and sides and the bottom mat is 5". The frame has a front profile of 1 1/8".
The overall size of "Pear Quench" measures 22" x 21".
The image exposed through the opening in the mat is 10" x 10".
And this was one of my favorites...
