Look closely at the painting Pillars of Enoch. The horse is also a ship, or as the ancient Egyptians called them a ‘bark’. In Egyptian myth a bark is usually shown being held up by the water god Nu. Here among other interpretations Nu can also be personified as the mermaid or the sphinx as I have rendered in my piece. Below is Nu, a caricature I have rendered from a photo of an Egyptian fresco.
