Michelangelo Zetterquist (see more by this artist)
Book of the Uppermost Page 6b
The great gladiators Verus and Priscus are represented at bottom and as two halves of the same whole Jachin and Boaz. The two pillars. Moses and Ahkenaten the great monotheist's are all so represented. The temple of Herod and the sphinx are combined and placed in the center of the Flavian Colosseum. Verus' quarry is at bottom two figurative gladiators fight at bottom. All of the objects are dissected to show layer upon layer; of is that such is history. Of course in the middle is the spiraling staircase of the Alexandrian Library rent in half representing its two fold destruction. Symbolism shows that the destruction of Herod's temple by Emperor Vespasian and the confiscation of its gold, paid for the Colosseum providing a stage for Verus and Priscus' famous gladiatorial battle.
