Pennant – 12th Night Announcement

Again, in creating announcements for event in 1983, most of us did not have a home computer! I did not have one at work, either. In fact, I did not have a computer at work until 1989, though had my first computer in 1988, so I could write my first book (on Crystals & Gemstones for Spiritual use – see my Bio for AuthorsDen LINK). So, I created something interesting that worked well for the announcement for 12th Night, 1983. The information was typed onto my form with the art already on it. It was for 12th Night in the Kingdom of the West, AS XVII (1983) & I was Autocrat for the 3rd time with my dear friend, Sirana of Hawthorn Hall – as my right hand woman (Assistant Autocrat) & I had taken her under my Pelican wings, teaching her all I knew about managing events (then had the pleasure as Queen in 1984 of Ronald & I giving her a Pelican). Sirana & I did have great fun putting on 12th Night that year! As a mundane note, I should not have been dealing with management of that event at all, though I had a good team. At the time, I was quite ill from a brain tumor & on February 4, 1983, had brain surgery to remove a benign Meningioma & recovered nicely, returning to work full time within 2 months, shocking everyone. Yes, in medieval times, I know that I would not have lived. Everything worked well for that 12th Night & the event was a success. A great time was had by all with a huge news article in the Hayward, California paper the next week! So, a simple design, such as this, can often work well for an announcement. At the top of the Pennant’s Staff is a Crown. It is the same style of Crown used for the Kingdom of the West’s Heraldic Arms! I have no photos from that event, as I was too busy managing it. Someone took photos of me in the costume I wore & I never received them. Oh well – it happens. I like drawing Pennants on a Staff, as it is fun to do!
