The Poppy is probably my favorite flower to render and here I present it in an encaustic measuring 28" x 19" for a dynamic presentation.
"Poppy-Fractured" is a composition reveling in love of form and shape. Utilizing the beautiful fluid form of the Poppy and placing that fluid quality with the muted, geometric tile pattern.
The coloration of the negative space is allowed to penetrate the flower petals and stem in order to harmonize with the background space. This piece is created on archival and acid free board. The presentation and frame are almost identical to "Rhyolite Recline", also an encaustic.
This is matted in an edleweiss linen mat with the dimensions 4 1/2" top and sides and a 5 1/4" bottom mat. The frame is a beautifull mahogany look wood with a double bead of antique gold. The front profile of the frame measures 1 1/4" and projects from the wall 1 1/2".
The overall size of "Poppy Fractured" measures approximately 40 1/2" x 31"
