‘Heraldic Shield Art Pattern & Instruction Manual’ - A Design for an Artistic Pattern for Creating a Medieval Shield upon which to Display a Coat of Arms! Please see additional images herein.
Now, with my Guidelines, Artistic Pattern & Detailed Instructions, anyone who stitches can create a Coat of Arms within a Heraldic Shield to display in their home or office!
Appliqué & Embroidered Coat of Arms within a Heraldic Shield – Designed Created by Countess Dierdriana of the Misty Isles, member since 1976 of The Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc.* & Also Known As, Maureen W. Clifton.
This Artistic Manual Includes: HerStory, Full Size Art Patterns, Detailed Instructions, Appliqué Examples, my Qualifications & Heraldic References (Glossary of Terms, 1894).
This item has been extremely popular on my Yessy Art Gallery: ‘MEDIEVAL ARTS MISTY ISLES!’ It has been viewed in many countries around the world!
First posted as an Art Drawing, there was such interest, I created my Detailed, Informative, Art Pattern & Instruction Manual, including colorful & helpful photo examples, artistic ideas with a volume of examples of projects I have accomplished.
I provide history of my development of this project, which began in the early 1980s. ‘Heraldic Shield Art Pattern Instructional Manual’ is written in English.
It provides complete & detailed instructions for the entire process, using appliqué & embroidery to create a beautiful ‘Heraldic Shield’ for any Coat of Arms!
I provide suggestions for variations on my theme’s design, types of fabrics to use, threads types for best results, needles & pins types & padding to consider for the best & most professional finish.
I include suggestions on detailed embroidery finishes or whether to pad it for a dimensional look & how to do that, along with guidelines for application of the Device’s Blazon (Coat of Arms’ description) within the shield.
I include a HERALDRY GLOSSARY from a public domain source from 1894 in my Extensive References. It will assist those unfamiliar with heraldry terms to understand the colors, called
‘tinctures’ & much more.
I have included alternative ideas to create a Heraldic Shield for a Coat of Arms, for a gentleman or a lady, for a Knight in a medieval society & for specialty interests, such as an Archer or a Chef & others!
As well, I include Framing options & suggestions.
A Coat of Arms in this Heraldic Shield can serve as a lasting Memento of one’s family Coat of Arms & can be passed down generation after generation as Fine Art!
One could even create a City, Town, Province or Country’s Arms within a Heraldic Shield.
This design application is under Textiles as a 'Tapestry of a Heraldic Shield with a Coat of Arms!' It is quite more than British, as it can be used Internationally!
My idea for creating a Fabric, Appliquéd, Embroidered & Dimensional Heraldic Shield began in the early 1980s. It is a timeless design! Please see other views herein. The quantity of this Artistic Pattern Manual is unlimited.
