In 1978, Dierdriana of the Misty Isles & Kriemhild of Stonecroft, Co-Autocrated SCA’s Kingdom of the West 12th Night for the last time in Kensington, California on January 6, 1979.
In preparing announcements for THE PAGE, West Kingdom’s newsletter, Dierdriana drew pen & ink drawings, one of which was posted before, titled, ‘Hear Ye! Hear Ye!’ That drawing was enlarged for directional signs. In addition, she drew a medieval ‘12th Night Musician & Dancer.’ At 12th Night, January 6, 1979, Dierdriana received her 1st SCA Award – a Queen’s Cypher from Queen Verena for her Services to Her Majesty.
The event was a success & Dierdriana & Kriemhild were pleased that others were happy with it. The original drawing, ‘Medieval 12th Night Musician & Dancer’ was framed & given to a friend.
