This charmingly old apple kiln, deeply buried in nature's beautiful volunteer growth, was painted one hot summer's day in the fragrent rolling hills of Sebastopol, California. The air was still,you could smell the hot foliage... listen to the soft sounds of bees buzzing. A purple shadow slowly crept across the split and worn shake roofs of the old apple kiln complex...
lazily gliding on the day's rising hot air, a coal black buzzard was slowly passing overhead leaving only its dark purple shadow behind as a reminder of its passing.
The second part of this day's story ...
as this painting was being created, two very nice older ladies driving by, stopped, watched the image grow, then offered to buy the as yet unfinished creation. I enjoyed their visit and thanked them sincerely for their compliments and offer. Upon their leaving I continued to complete this painting. I hope that you can picture my day and its happenings in your mind...and share this truly pleasant day with this artist.
