On a bright October Sunday morning while visiting sights along California's great and famous wine producing Napa Valley, Shirley and I decided to stroll the quaint streets of this old valley town...Calistoga, California.
By noon it became a perfect day for growing luscious grapes and producing world quality wines...
but to Shirley and I, being the coastal people we are, it seemed more like it was getting hot enough to boil the grape... and leave a small puddle of artist ...and one fried companion.
As the basis for this painting, you can understand how after a short search for my subject, it immediately became a very quick and hotly produced member of my "Memo" series, and later one of my favoites paintings.
This Orthodox Christian Center in Calistoga, California is built in the style of the Landmark Russian Church along California's Beautiful Pacific Coast at the Early Russian Traders Settlement named FORT ROSS.
But then...that's another artist fun story.
