This Cockapoo Dog Leash Holder was inspired by my own Cockapoo, Benji, who gives me this cute little "puppy-eyed" look when he wants me to take him out for a walk and stop working on my art. I had to capture that adorable expression that he so often gives me. If it was up to Benji, my job would have nothing to do with art and everything to do with walking him.
The Cockapoo is made from high fire ceramics and the use of various glazes which is surrounded by handmade as well as glass tiles. The knobs are hand painted ceramic that securely hold leashes, hats etc. I curled his copper wire whiskers to add to his whimsy look, and hand painted his eyes to increase the intensity of his stare. I also added a metal dog tag with a glass charm embedded in the middle.
As with all my creations, this is a handmade, signed, one-of-a-kind leash holder that can be copied, but not duplicated. Each piece is lovingly hand formed, mosaics pieces are individually hand-cut, meticulously arranged, and the glazes are applied with three to six coats to achieve the best color enhancement.
