Up for sale: As Super Bowl XXVI played out at Minnesota’s Metrodome, eye-opening numbers told of trends unfolding in opposite directions. Victorious Washington became the first team to win Super Bowls with three different quarterbacks. Buffalo, meanwhile, lost its second of a record four straight title contests. This “Wilson” Pete Rozelle signature model pigskin was used in that January 26, 1992 installment and autographed by opposing signal callers Jim Kelly and MVP Mark Rypien. The ball features an event logo design and printed names of the combatants. Executed in silver Sharpie on consecutive panels, the autographs both project (“9-10”) strength and clarity. Moderate game use is evident. Basic cert/sticker from JSA (for autographs - Certification Number G59390) and LOA from source from which our consignor obtained the ball.
